Our fully qualified Speech and Language Therapist works has experience of working with children with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties within a wide variety of settings including Pre-school settings, Mainstream Primary and Secondary schools, Special schools, Child Development Centres and Sure Start. Our Therapist is a member of the Royal College of Speech and language therapists and is HCPC registered.

 

The London Child Psychology Practice provides assessment and therapy for:

 

  • Delayed or disordered speech development (pronunciation of sounds in speech)

  • Oral motor development (co-ordination of mouth movements and muscle tone)

  • Dyspraxia (pre and post diagnosis)

  • Auditory processing difficulties (understanding words, remembering words, sequencing sounds in words)

  • Delayed understanding of language (following instructions, understanding conversations, answering questions)

  • Expressive language (using words, joining words to make sentences, having conversations, remembering words)

  • Specific Language Impairments (SLI)

  • Social communication and interaction (Autistic spectrum disorders, Aspergers Syndrome, pragmatic        
    language impairment)

  • Downs Syndrome (and associated language, hearing and communication difficulties)

  • Learning difficulties

  • Stammering or difficulties with fluent speech

  • Voice problems (persistent voice loss, 'croaky' 'weak' voice)

  • Play skills

  • Attention and listening difficulties

  • Specialist advice, supports and interventions, including Hanen parent and teacher language programmes, Lidcombe       therapy for children who stammer, the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS),TEEACH,  Intensive        
    Interaction, Makaton, Signalong and the use of the Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme

  • Parent workshops and training for teachers, Teaching Assistants, nursery staff, Speech and Language Therapists and    other therapy disciplines
